Parents, as the season approaches, you may want to begin to think about the maintenance of your son’s lacrosse stick. The most important piece of equipment that will reflect on your son’s over all progression in the sport is the lacrosse stick. The most vital part of the stick is the pocket.
A pocket that is too deep or too shallow will directly affect your son’s ability to throw, catch, shoot and protect the ball properly. As a parent, you have invested many dollars in your son’s equipment. New models of sticks, shafts and gloves come along every year but it will still come down to the combination of his technique and the pocket in the stick that will play a very important role in your son’s development.
Below you will find the address and info on who we consider the best pocket maker for youth lacrosse sticks. He can string new heads (you can buy just a head without the pocket in it) and used heads. Every player wants a new stick each year but a new pocket is a lot less expensive. The pockets should last appx 1 season before it begins to wear out or go soft.
Jimmy strings sticks for hundreds of professional, collegiate and youth players across the country. Timing may be critical…if your son is using it on weekends now, send the head UPS to Jimmy on Monday and you should get it back by Friday of the same week. Avoid the week of 2/4-2/8 only.
